Busy Roads Make Unfriendly Neighbourhoods

This chart is fairly clear and self-explanatory.  It is the result of a study in 2008 in Bristol, UK:

When you think about it, it makes perfect sense that if you live on a busy road you’re not going to spend time out chatting with the folk next door. But it’s still surprising and frightening to see just how completely the cars kill the chance to be neighbourly.
